quick oil pan question

quick oil pan question

does a stock LT1 oil pan off a '94 camaro, work on a 383 with the 3.75" stroke?

I think you'd have to clearance it a bit. Do yourself a favor and invest in an aftermarket pan (Canton and Moroso make them) and a high volume pump.

Exactly the opposite of what I would do (and did ). Stock pan works fine with a 3.75" stroke, at least it does with my Callies crank. Very minor tapping of the bottom of the pan to clearance it.... you can't notice it. And the stock pump works perfectly - blueprint it, tack weld the pickup, and use the high pressure relief spring if you plan to wind it over 6,000rpm. I've seen LT1's pushing over 1,000HP run fine with that setup. Be sure to use a windage tray.

i would like to keep the stock oil pan. I dont want to spend around $250 for the canton oil pan. I bought a mellings high pressure/volume pump. Will that work fine with it Injuneer? Where would i get a windage tray to fit it?
