Quick hot cam question?
Quick hot cam question?
I just ordered the hot cam kit for my 95Z and I was wondering if I could use the stock pushrods or will I have to purchase a different length pushrod?
Also the car has 80,000 miles should I replace the lifters and timing chain?

I would check the pushrods by rolling them on a flat surface to make sure they are not bent. If they are alright, I would stick with those. As far as the timimg chain, I would go ahead and purchase a new stock set(chain and gears) for about $60. Safe insurance and with 80k (like mine) better to be safe than sorry. Good luck,

Your stock pushrods will most likely be OK. But since you will be adding 1.6 rockers with the kit you will want to double check your valvetrain alignment to be certain. I don't have any experience with the hot cam kit but I am assuming the rockers are self-aligning meaning guide plates are not required. If guide plates are required (not self aligning rockers)make sure you use hardened pushrods. Hope that helps
