AN fittings screw on and off instead of that goofy *** connection the stock lines have
they make an adaptor for the stock hardlines on lt1's i think they are -6 for the stock lines i dont remember
i had AN fittings welded onto my fuel rails and running an aftermarket fpr

mabey you are just using the tool wrong. It honestly took 30 seconds to pop both of mine off. Just clamp to tool around the line on the intake side of thoes lines then push the tool up under the rubber rings and that will release the spring keeps the lines from popping off.

Also be sure to bleed you shrader valve. It u look to the left of the fuel pressure regulator you will see a little cap that looks like on you find on a tire stem of a bicycle. You may not have it on there as min was (guess somebody forgot to put it back on), but you will see what looks like the valve stem where you put air in your tires. Just take a key or something and push the core and this will release all the pressure on the fuel system. Also you may want to take off you gas cap to release the pressure on the system.
