Quick easy question, (search was fruitless)

When checking rod and main bearing clearance, is it simply the differnce in the journal and the bore of the bearing to get overall clearance, or is it that divided by two to get clearance per side?

Plasti-gage might be a good idea

No not divided by 2. But it can be hard to get a reading using inside mics. If you use a plastigage, you don't have to use any math. Good thing for people like me that confused easy.

Yeah, purists look down on Plastigage. But I find it works and is much easier to use.
