Quick Coil Replacement Q

OK, I was going to change my coil, following Shoebox's (thanks!) tech article, but I have fond that I have some stupid extra braket whose only purpose is to provide a little support for the intake elbow. The top mounting point is one of the nuts holding the coil on. Problem is, I can't find the bottom mounting nut so that I can move the braket, and thus, remove the coil. Err.

That bracket could be for holding this AIR sylenoid on that they put on for that AIR recall. That thing used to get in my way so much ---- Key word used to!! No more AIR.

I wish I had a pic . But the bracket I had the bottom was attached on the pass side of the coil bolt with a nut. THe top was just had a bent piece of metal in which to hook the sylenoid on. We may be talking about two didfferent things here too .??

Yeah, we're taling about something different. I know which bracket you're speaking of. Maybe the bracket is only on '96-'97 cars? I noticed Shobox didn't have that bracket in his tech article, and he has a '95 too, I think.
I'll take a pic tonight, if I can.

Where is shoebox's tech article on the coil change? What coil are you using? Thanks.

Part #8231 for our cars.

SOMEBODY with a '96 or '97 LT1 must have replaced their coil before. I need to know how you got that bracket off.

D@mn! I must be the ONLY person that has this stupid bracket. It isn't in that guide either! Actually, I'm wondering if it has to do with my car being an SS? Maybe SLP puts it there for some extra bracing since the air box is on top (even though it's bolted to the intake manifold). I'm about to cut that b*tch out!
Sorry, but it's irritating me.
