Quick Cam question...93 v. 94-97

I was wondering if there was any difference in the cams(actually the dowel pin) on the cams for the fbods in any of the years....i wasnt sure if the fact that the 93s were speed density made any difference, probably not...but did the opti change besides the venting which would make the cams not compatable...Im looking at getting a 93 and im used to the obd2 and maf so thats why im asking

Cams for the non vented opti had smaller holes drilled in the front of them. The dowel pin would be a little shorter, as well.

so could you just cut the pin down and make it work, i have always seen cams for sale on here and thought that they would work in most lt1s, or would i have to convert the opti to a vented one

Speaking stock parts, the newer cams can work on the older engines, but the older cams cannot work with the newer, vented opti.
