Quick cam install question...

Just a quick question about sliding the cam into the engine. Does it need to be set to a certain spot (degreed) or is just installed in any spot. I was just wondering if you could screw it up by not installing it correctly.

When the cam gear is installed, it must be correctly phased to the crank gear. You line up the dots on the faces of the gears.

yea, on LT1's its impossible to get it wrong, the cam has a dowel pin that has to go into the timing chain gear, then the gear has to line up with the dot on the crank, if when its all said and done the dowel pin should be at 3 o'clock at TDC if i remember correctly
