quick questions here folks. I need some headers, i went to the local lordco and they priced the cheapest ones around 800 bucks canadian. ouch. i want the cheapest headers available for my car, i want rid of those damn exhaust manifolds! and will they connect to my original y-pipe setup? next.. i installed some ngk 55 spark plugs in my car..i want to do the wires next, i have the original wires still installed in the vehicle, (152000 km's). Switching to taylor wires.. 8mm wires so on n so forth, will i know a difference?
my cat. i want to get rid of it, i have a flowmaster catback setup. should i wait to get headers first.. get new y-pipe.. any suggestions.. ideas..
thanks!

the mac headers are cheap, come with a y pipe and will support 400rwhp NA stock shortblock. i would put wires on it. its hard to notice even 15rwhp seat of the pants, but that doesnt mean its not there. whats the big deal with taking off the cat? all you need is a piece of pipe and a welder.
takin off the cat, the fact that i should do it after i get headers/y-pipe.. is there a length difference in the y-pipe.. or am i just worrying myself about something that is nonexistant

the stock LT1 y pipe is a ****ter. most people get rid of it, most headers come with a y pipe on the 93-95 single cat application. i converted my car over to a 96-97 style dual cat exhaust, but that wasnt cheap because i had to buy the headers y pipe and catback all separatly. i had my reasons for doing it, for most people there are better options. the mac headers/y pipe is a good setup.
you could take off the cat now or later, it really doesnt matter unless you did longtubes or something that completely changes the exhaust layout.
