Questions after cam swap

Questions after cam swap
Alright everyone, i finished up my cam swap last night and damn it was worth it! I installed a CC503, Crane 10308 spring kit and 1.6 RRs. I already have some BBK shorties that were installed prior to me purchasing the car. Now to the questions. I got a tune from Madz28 for the cam, headers, and cold air intake. I have yet to install the cold air intake since i never received the coupler to connect the cold air kit to the MAF. Will it be alright to run the tune using the stock intake for a while? Second question is... My temperature gauge does not work. I hooked up to data master and i can see that my coolant temperature sensor is working, however, the oil temperature reads -36 degrees celcius. Going back and looking over some old logs i realized that the oil temperature said -36 degrees before the cam swap and the temperature gauge was working fine. Anyone have any ideas on what would be happening with my temperature gauge? Thanks everone

Re: Questions after cam swap
No problems running with the stock air intake. The computer doesn't "read" oil temperature, the stock system doesn't have a oil temp sensor and the computer isn't setup to read one. By any chance do you mean Intake Air Temp (IAT)? If it is your IAT, make sure you pulled the harness into the IAT sensor in the intake elbow.

Re: Questions after cam swap
No it is not air intake temperature. My engine temperature gauge on the dash does not register anything even when the engine is up to operating temperature. However, when i have my laptop plugged in datamaster tells me that the engine coolant temperature is 101 degrees celcius (i am in canada)

Re: Questions after cam swap
The ECM is reading of the Engine Coolant Tempature sensor attached to your waterpump. According to your post, this one is working.
Your gauges (inside car), reads engine tempature from the sensor attached to your driver side head. You might of damaged it when installing your new set-up.
F-Bodys never had oil tempature sensors either.

You'll be fine running it on the tune with out a CAI. Its funny because people really think these tunes are that customized, if you look at many of the mail order tunes side by side they're all pretty much exactly the same.
