questions about installing CSI water pump

questions about installing CSI water pump

I'm installing the CSi water pump on my 94 T/A and i am also doing a cam swap. one i put the new timing chain back on what or how do i get rid of the gear that drives the water pump. i took the 2 hex head screws out but it wont pull out. does anyone know if i can just leave it in it place with a new double roller timing chain?

I followed the directions for the pump install. I didn't remove the shaft though. I'm doing my cam install in the spring and plan on doing it then. Hope this helps.

Just with the intake off...hit it from the back with a socket and a hammer and it will come right off

do i need to put a freeze plug in place of the shaft or can i just leave it open which di u so snakeeater?

I just knocked that shaft out with a center punch and a hammer, it came out pretty easily. I left the hole open, I was told it didn't matter if you plugged it or not and it's been fine since.
