Question on y pipe for jet hots

If I get the jet hot long tubes for my 94 formula, does the corresponding y pipe leave room for connecting my cat? Is it something that I would have to cut off some of the y pipe to have room to weld in the cat and then just bolt it up to my loudmouth? I've seen people sellling these headers for around $500 and know that I will obviously need the y pipe, but I've also seen the pacesetter longtubes and y pipe for around $500 but they aren't coated and I've heard mixed reactions about their products. Hopefully in a month my formula will be back out cause all the muscle cars are starting to come out and I miss it, and seeing as how I'm changing my head gaskets I figured might as well do something like headers or cam while I'm in there. Any advice?

Re: Question on y pipe for jet hots

My advice to you is that. Jet hot long tubes are nice headers, but I not had the chance to put converters on them. I have however installed many pacesetters coated and uncoated longtubes with the y-pipe. Where I live we need converters so I have made a y-pipe for the pacesetters with the converters already in them. I have installed a few of them and they look great and sound really nice. You have no ground clearence issues either.

I need the cat where I live too. Thats the only reason I am asking. I just don't know how much a muffler shop would charge to make one for me, and I don't think that any around here have a mandrel bender. So the pacesetter products are built well and you've never had any issues? I mean for the price it just makes me wonder.

Nope never had any issues. Just have to make sure they dont hit the heat sheild on the passenger side. Let me know if you need a y-pipe made for the pacesetters with cats.
