Question, what is Max Rec Lift mean in CC catalog?

Question, what is Max Rec Lift mean in CC catalog?
I was looking in the Comp Cams catalog today at the springs. I was looking at the 987 springs and saw this filed Max Rec Lift nad it was .500 for the 987. Does that mean, that is the max lift it can handle???
