Driver's side is the side the driver's seat is on, which is either RH or LH depending on how you look at the car. Generally, the driver's side is considered the left side, as everything else in the car is right of the driver.

Left Hand is to the left as you face the front, standing BEHIND the car..
Right Hand is the right of car facing the front, standing behind it..
Never do this looking at the car FROM the front of the car [that would be backwards..]

Which side of the engine is the left side, the driver's side (which is the left side of the car standing behind the car looking towards the front OR the right side of the car standing behind the car looking towards the front of the car (aka the passenger's) side OR is the left side of the enginge the side to the left side of the car standing in front of the car looking towards the rear?

Stand in the back and look toward the front.
