Question Regarding Opti Vac. Harness

Just got finished putting the Vette back together and it seems the line from the opti to the intake elbow got ripped apart. Is it OK to drive with it like that for the time being?

Its a vacuum leak... very small one but still a vacuum leak. I doubt youd ever notice a difference in the way the car drives but why not just fix the tear with some black tape till you find a replacement hose?

Re: Question Regarding Opti Vac. Harness

If the vacuum side of the harness is connected, you will be pulling unfiltered air into your opti. If only for a short time, you might just cap the ports on the opti and also at the intake. You should also plug the hole in the intake elbow.

The problem is, the tear is where we can't get to on the end of the opti. On Vette's it's impossible to mess around with the Opti, unlike our cars. Should the vacuum side of the harness be blocked off until it gets fixed, Rob?

Yeah, I think I said to cap off the vacuum at the intake.

It's always good to check. Sometimes I get confused.
