Question on power from cam
Question on power from cam
I have the desktop dyno 2000 on my computer. I entered some info about my car (96 SS). I put in ported stock heads, high performance exhaust, and my aftermarket cam specs. This combo made approximately 390 - 400 hp and 350-360 ft. lbs. of torque. I then entered the same info, but switched the cam info to my stock cam and the horsepower dropped a little, but torque was well over 400. Would this be correct?
Thanks.
Thanks.
Re: Question on power from cam
Make sure you read the instructions that came with your dyno prog. On mine, if a roller cam has less than 240 degrees, you enter it as a hydraulic lifter flat tappet cam. The numbers are then much more accurate.
Re: Question on power from cam
I did not put in the flow numbers from my heads. I have not had them worked on yet, but I entered Low performance, pocket ported on the program. I set the induction at 750 cfm. I figured this might be comparable to a 58 mm throttle body.
