I've been looking to buy a '94 or '95 Z-28 and am wondering what I should be looking out for. Basically, I'm wondering what tell-tale signs of abuse or mechanical failure that I should look out for when I look at these cars. I know that if its hard to start and shoots black smoke out the exhaust, to stay away. But I'm asking if there are more subtle problems that I could detect that I would not immediately see. I figure it can't hurt to ask the people that know all about these cars what I should pay attention to on the first look/test drive.

Also, what would be a fair asking price for a '94 or '95 in good/decent shape with less than 70-80k miles? I've been looking at Kelley Blue Book and at the ads, but I'm not sure what the fair price would really be.

another thing u could do is take it to get scanned and see if any codes come up...have a shop check it out....
umm, oh...and dont be content on that one car...is something seems fishy...it probably is...pass and move on. theres a lot of f-bodies out there for u to get (remember that)
