Installed the headers and love them, They are pacesetters LT, NOw the y-pipe it look pretty easy but i seee a clearances problem between the group of fuel and brake lines on the driver side of the car. DOi need to relocate them over alittle but or will be fine with the way they are? Also, does anybody have some picture of the y-pipe installed i'd like to look at some before i start on may install. Thanxs for the replys!!!

Re: question on gas lines and y-pipe

The y-pipe itself didn't interfere at all with the brake/fuel lines. When I added a cat. on that side ,however, it got close to the brake lines so we had to gently bend the lines up a little bit.

I wrapped mine with header tape--never can be too careful with fuel/brake lines .

Re: question on gas lines and y-pipe

I stuck a piece of square galvanized sheet metal in between the floor and the header as a heat shield. I used self tapping screws to hold it up there.
No problems in a year and a half.

I also build a large custom driver's side heat shield using .030 sheet aluminum. You really need something to reflect the heat away from the fuel poly lines and brake lines on the driver's side. I have a pattern and some pictures of the aluminum heat shield. PM me if you want more info.

Re: question on gas lines and y-pipe

the brake lines should have any problem unless they are rubbing on the pipes. Fuel lines however are plastic and you don't want to risk those melting on the pipe.
