Re: question with fuel lines

There are fittings that will allow you to attached braided S/S hoses to the hard lines. Then you could route them any way you want. My entire system is braided S/S lines, routed up from behind the engine. You might want to try a "search"... I know people have posted the manufacturer and part numbers for the fittings.

Not unless you want to do your own custome lines from the tank forward.

Re: question with fuel lines

my suggestion is you leave them as they are, recently i burnt a fuel line and im getting the braided type but im routing it the same way, i think the gm techs routed it that way for a reason, and if it deals with saftey i would rather not comprimise it.

Re: question with fuel lines

Check the 2nd post in this thread for info and photos on compression fittings that attach AN lines to the stock hard lines at the rails.

http://web.camaross.com/forums/showt...l+line+fitting

If you are looking at something more permanent, there are people who have had -6AN and -8AN fittings welded to the back of the fuel rails to allow complete -AN systems. Just depends what you want to do, and how much you want to spend.

I wouldn't worry about the GM tech's logic.... I remember a website back a few years where a guy who had a fire in his 4th Gen LT1 engine bay was trying to put together a class action suit on the poor routing of the fuel lines.... seems the plastic ring holding the bundle to the throttle quadrent cover broke, dropped the bundle on the hot exhaust parts, the lines melted and his car went up in flames.

I run a -6AN supply line and a -6AN return line, both routed from the back of the engine down under the car. It's been running fine for 4 years, looks a lot better protected than the factory routing, and supports 800HP including dry nitrous.
