I have a chance to buy a 95 z28 with 42k miles, slp exhaust, ss wheels, and intake for 6500. however, it is automatic. would the automatic transmission hurt the performance or can they still be quite fast? (aka gt killer)

uumm, don't bother. getting an automatic is a waste of time. 6-speeds are quicker. i used to think they could launch better, but at the track, i beat all of my auto friends in 60 ft. times with my 6-speed. GIRLS DRIVE AUTOMATICS. go w/ a stick.

 

the automatics are actually faster straight line. The manuals are just more fun. that cat should beat every GT on up to 2003 as is. or be really close with the new ones, you may need some headers to give you the edge.

of the 10 F- bodies in the 9's that i know of 8/10 are auto. I gave up trying to find a 6 speed and got an auto when i saw a good deal.
