ok i know that i have to turn the crank to 6+12 to remove the gears for TDC but when i put the gears and chain back on do i have to turn the crank to 12+12 or sumthing for the opti to go back on?i have a 94Z28 and have heard diff stories.thanks guys.oh by the way im doing an opti,timing chain/gear,csi wp install.

 

All you need to do is align the dots on the two sprockets, then reinstall the way you took them off. You don't need to do anything else.

 

Nope, just align the dots then remove and replace the same way.




Crank gear dot at 12 and cam gear dot at 6 is #6cyl TDC and both dots at 12 oclock is #1 TDC.

 

ok cool.so i just reinstall everything with the dots at 6+12 and throw the timing cover and opti on without a prob.ok thanks cuz my friend who has a 97 ta i think has to align the dots different for the opti not sure why but he said its diff for the 94 and he didnt know.thanks
