Ok, i got the post on the back of the alternator hooked up to the battery like normal. Now the plug on the alternator, does that go to a "Hot when key is turned" wire or always hot? Found the reason for my cooling, my fan is losing voltage.

 

If you want an intelligent and helpful answer, give more background info on what you are doing with the alt. Why can't you just plug the alt in? Are you putting an LT1 into a Jaguar, Jeep, RX7, S10...? Most people cannot read minds.
