Re: question about take motor out the bottom

you need to disconnect the brake lines and set the ecm on top of the motor then you need to take the trans xmember and driveshaft and torque arm out then you need to get a big *** sturdy table and lower it til the kmember is sitting on it

there are 6 bolts that hold the kmember to the body undo them and undo the upper shock mounts(on inner fender wheel) and raise the car back up

then there are 2 motor mount bolts(1 on each side) they are the only thing holding the engine to the kmember and you cant miss them undo that and then lift the motor and trans off the kmember with a cherry picker(engine lift)

and install is just the reversal of beginning

Re: question about take motor out the bottom

where exactly are the 6 bolts holding the k-member to the frame?
I look quickly last night and didnt see them, Do i have to unbolt them from the top or the bottom?

They are on the bottom and pretty plain to see. Just look for the large bolt heads where the k-member meets the body. The middle one is up inside a recessed hole.

Re: question about take motor out the bottom

you can get those floor rollers ( things you lay on) get like 2 or 3 of them and drop the engine and trans on those, then get a engine hoist and strap the hoist to the car's frame and lift the car up and then jsut slide the engine and tranny out from under the car!!! then you can take it apart piece by piece, or have the hoist hooked up to the egine and be a bit easier to move around!
thats how i did mine and it was me and someone else...prety easy after those bolts are out!

This does have pictures but none show those bolts. They are easy to find
