Question about a pipe on the backside of the motor.

What is the metal pipe that connects to the back passenger side of the motor on the intake manifold. It is held on by 2 bolts and the pipe itself is corregated. It is next to the egr diaphram. What is this pipe? Thanks.

it connects to the passenger side header...it is part of the ewgr system..when you get EGR block off plates you will remove that and remove the egr and block that off...if you get aftermarket headers you will need to remove that if it doesnt come with one....
if you dont understand what i am saying then other poeple should tell you...
sorry if i didnt make since...

The reason I asked this is because I made a plate to block that one pipe off thinking that would block off the whole EGR system but then I realized that the EGR diaphram is still connected to the intake so now I am thinking that I really didn't do anything with my plate.

So by blocking off that one pipe, did I block off the egr or did I do something harmful?

All you did was stop exhaust gases from feeding into the manifold during EGR valve operation. I guess your EGR valve is still operating, if you did not disable it, but no exhaust gas is fed through. The EGR does have some benefits and it does not harm performance. You can read more about it here.
