Cool Question about installing head/intake gaskets...

I believe they are suppose to be installed dry but i just wanted to make sure. Last time I had a very thin coating of copper rtv on the intakes but was told not to after it was to late. So should the head/intake gaskets be installed dry or with rtv? Thanks

Aaron

My head gasket was dry but I used RTV on the front and back of the intake manifold (required actually)

Well first make sure all the mating surfaces are clean and dry and then install the head gaskets dry.Install the intake gaskets dry but use some rtv sealant on the front on back of the intake and run a small bead of sealant under and over the ends of the intake gaskets where they meet the bead of sealant that is running across the front and back.
