question about GM 847 cam and rear mounted distributor
hey guys,
i have a 94 LT1 383 with a rear mounted distributor, i did the conversion over the winter when i rebuilt my 350. the distributor came with a bronze gear... i herd i might have a problem with a bronze gear so i wanted to ask you guys first before i pull my intake and distributor...
if the gm 847 is a steel cam... wont i need a steel/ iron gear.... wouldnt the bronze fail?

I don't think running a bronze gear with a steel camshaft is considered a problem. The below link might help you out.

I'd call Crane and ask. It's their cam they should know. They've always been very helpful to me on the phone.

Good luck.
