Question about borla
I just bought the Borla Exhaust Rear Section for my 97 Camaro Z28. What are the differences between the rear section, and the full cat back. Kind of a stupid question, but I am new to this so. Also sounds..which would have a louder sound the rear section of the full cat back. This is probobly obvious to many of you but not to me.
Thanks!
Thanks!
If im correct, the Borla rear section only replaces the stock muffler and tailpipes...whereas the cat-back is designed differently. The cat-back has the interchangeable plates, to fine tune the sound (and flow)of the exhaust...from subtle to obnoxious.

as opposed to this one:

And the Borla you got doesnt have a cat, it has a muffler.

if u r gonna spend that much on muffler and tips, u mine as well change the whole cat-back. i got the interchangable plates on mine and i LOVE IT. everyone thinks the car has headers and gutted cat, but in reality i still got stock manifolds, and just a new cat.
Fun to play around to see how loud the car can get plate by plate>hehe

hey OnefstCamaroZ28,
I recently installed the rear section Borla system you are talking about. All in all I am very happy with it. It looks awsome and sounds great. but its not very loud. I wanted the whole Catback system, but I got a deal on this one that I couldnt refuse. If you are buying the Rear section at basically full price, I would just spend the little bit extra and get the full cat back and reap the full benefit. If your just looking for a nice mild sound increase and apperance change you will be happy with the rear section. also the rear section can be installed yourself pretty easily without even putting the car on a lift. (i did mine in my driveway no problem)
Hope this helps, Either way you will have a great system.
Good luck
Ed
