question about ...approx 450 hp n/a

if you where going for aroudn 450 rwhp N/A cam/heads and did a rebuild with it...what all problems would you run into if you drove it maybe 2 days a week? or is that not such a far fetched idea as far as driveability is concerned?

There's nothing that would prevent you from using it as a daily driver, as long as its put together using the correct parts, the correct assembly techniques and given the correct tune. Why would you be concerned about how many days a week you can drive it?

Probably a good question for "LT1 Engine Tech" since there are people on that forum who drive setups like this all the time..... moving post there.

ive never thought too much about n/a ive always been a boost fan, first car was a supercharged 3rd gen, any how, if u go for 450 rwhp ur gonna have to have a hell of a cam if im not mistaken, and with a hell of a cam ur gonna lose some of your driveability, vacuum etc, just lookin for any imput i can get on it

If you build a stroker you can make up for the loss of low end due to the big cam. Plus its going to be hard hitting 450hp on a stock displacement anyway...well not hard...but it would be easier to hit that # with a 383 IMO and certainly wouldnt' have the driveability issues.

Are you wanting 450 rear wheel HP or 450 crankshaft HP?

With a 383 you can do either and drive it everyday. (but the gas bill will be big)

Deffinitely an attainable goal, and certainly can be built to be a streetable combo.

Some have had the rotor come apart in the opti at 7000 rpm, I regularly see 6700 rpm in my car and its fine.

He indicated 450 rwhp, and its an M6. He needs to make about 515-520 flywheelHP. That's not a radical combo.

Re: question about ...approx 450 hp n/a

I drove mine everyday before twin turboing it. I was running 420rwhp. I had stock casting heads that were worked and a solidroller, but most people dont wanna run a solidroller. So to get to that goal it would have to be a pretty good build.
