question about air pump wires.. whos hot?

I am going to use the air pump wiring to power my electic waterpump since I deleted the air pump. I was wondering what wire is hot. Does anyone know? Thanks in advance. -Matt

Since the air pump is only working the first couple of minutes after start up, how will you keep the power going to the pump?

Hmm.. I guess you'r right. I need to only use the fuse from the airpump. Wish there was an easy right up on this for an OBDII LT1 car.

Why not wire it with the fuel pump? If the fuel pump isn't on, the car ain't runnin'!

Hey whatever works man I am down for. I just seen someone suggest running it to the air pump fuse. And considering I just took mine out I figured why not run it that way. Im open to all suggestions and any good write ups regarding how to run an electric waterpump. -Matt

Re: question about air pump wires.. whos hot?

Just get a relay and wire it up like this:

85 -- ground

86 -- any switched +12V wire (This will wire will activate the relay. It doesn't really matter where you grab this wire at since it takes very little current to activate a relay. Any wire that is hot when the car is on and not when the car is off will do.)

87a -- N/A

87 -- Positive wire from the water pump

30 -- Battery (You can go right to the distribution block on the passenger fender)

Then just ground the negative wire from the water pump and you're done. This way you will be pulling current straight from the battery and not another circuit in the car.
