QA1/HAL shocks and spring install.

I’m in the process of installing QA1 front shocks and springs. The original plastic shaft cover doesn’t fit inside the QA1 spring, so I decided not to use it. The jounce bumper doesn’t fit either. Has anybody done this and fixed the rubber piece on the shock?
Thanks in advance

hey whats up man, for the jounce bumper i used my dremel tool to sand the inside of the white rubber out a little and then it fit perfect. have you tried Injuneer's website for installing them? that really helped me out alot. im at work right now so i cant put it on here cuz its on my favorites on my computer at home, but when i get off i'll post it for ya. try a search for it in the mean time and see what comes up for it. cya

Look at Injuneer's write-up .

When I did mine, I used everything that was on the old ones, even the dust shield. The part on the inside of the dust shield is soft and it just squished and conformed to the Hal adapter.

Be sure to apply antiseize grease to both sides of the metal washer that fits between the spring and the adjustable spring seat collar. If you don't, you won't be able to adjust the hide height once the spring is compressed. Some people are adding a roller bearing but I found the grease works just fine.

I've seen the injuneers wrightup who used eibach spring which is the same as shoebox. The QA1 springs have smaller internal diameter on both ends to fit over the seat. I can trim the outside of the rubber piece to make it fit a guess.

You shouldn't need to trim anything if you are using the QA1 springs with their front shocks.

I was able to use the original upper spring mount when I installed mine without cutting anything.
