Putting drivetrain into an 80 Malibu...
Long story short, I have a 96 Z28 that has been damaged an I was wondering how hard it would be to move the drivetrain into an 1980 Malibu my buddy has. My Z is a 6spd, guessing that would be the hardest part of the swap? Any input would be appreciated...thanks.

Should be rather easy getting the motor in there but the trans will likley have its challenges making it a manual cutting the floor for the shifter, hydraulics, cross member, and rewiring it. Its going to be alot of creativity and trial and error making things work and getting the wiring sorted out. Were just finishing up a lt1/t5 swap on a 67 camaro originally a tired 396/4spd car. Getting ready to fire it up hopefully end of the week.

It is a very straight-forward swap. I installed a 1994 T-56 into my 88 Monte SS G-BODY, back in 1997. You can find a plethora of information on such swaps on the MonteSS forum. Coincidentally, I also swap in a 1995 LT-1/T-56 in a good friends 1968 RS SS Camaro, back in 2004/5. I rebuilt the LT-1 engine with locally ported heads, CRANE 227 cam, and other bolt-ons. The T-56 was re-freshed as well, since it was from a wrecked donar car. That thing was really nice with the stock 12 bolt and 3.07 gear, then we installed some 3.42's and really woke it up. Now with 4.10s, it's an ABSOLUTE BEAST!!!!!!
