push rod order?
push rod order?
i just pulled them out and placed them all in a box and didn't think bout them having to go back in the same places on the head they came out of. how important is this? i don't want to hurt my motor...
Re: push rod order?
Sorry dude, you're screwed..........
Just kidding. Put them on a glass table or something and verify that they're all straight, and if they are you should be good to put them back in any order. It's not the preferred method because moving parts tend to form certain wear patterns with each other, and if intermixed "could" be more prone to failure, but you have to work with what you've got.

Re: push rod order?
I don't pay attention to where they came from. It doesn't matter with pushrods. In fact, it doesn't matter with roller lifters either. Flat tappet lifters are a whole 'nother thing though. YOU must keep them in order or you will wipe out your cam!
