I was replacing my throttle body cover plate the other day and when I removed it I noticed a deteriorating plastic gasket looking thing under it. I removed it and put on a new billet tb plate. I now have kind of a long start issue and poor idle. Any connection?

 

That would be a gasket that seals the plate on. ive seen a rubber version, and a cardboard type gasket version, either one works
