Purple wire, dead car!
Purple wire, dead car!
I was starting my car today and i used in the clutch pedal to start cranking and my dash died, car would not crank at all.. no power windows or locks.. i found a 6 inch long purple wire laying on my carpet... I must have snagged it on my foot while depressing the pedal..
I can't find where it goes.. could someone send me a picture of the wiring under the driver dash? My car is modified with stereo equipment and aftermarket car alarm so I don't know what is what.. a picture of a stock harness with all wires would be so much help... thanks!

There is a "purple" wire that runs to the starter solenoid, it can be seen in a loom under the hood near the PCM. This may be the other end of that wire you are seeing under the dash.
I use this purple wire under the hood to crank the motor over by connecting 12+. This is useful for adjusting valves.

yeah the problem im getting is that there is no power in the car what so ever, and I have no idea where... in what loom... this wire came from.. and without it I will have no dash power, no power locks or windows or anything at all... I need to know where exactly this wire plugs into... and a picture would be more than a 1000 words.
I know i still have power to the battery because my alarm went off later today.. I get good voltage from the battery, the hole dash cut out at one time. I checked all fuses under the dash and checked the fuse box aswell.. everything is OK. my only direct link to this problem is that purple wire that was ripped out...
Would it not affect everything if it was part of the ignition?
