Thumbs up Purchasing 97 Trans Am

67k miles, white with tan leather. Auto, in 'excellent' condition (inside and out), new tires-you can tell it's really been babied. bone-stock. It was priced at 9, and I got her for 76. Is that a relativaly good price? Also, what mods should I be going for first- cold air filter? Pulley? Ram air?
Also, are SLP performance parts the way to go? Or are the big names at summit racing betterr (K & N, Hooker, etc.) I'm fairly new to all of this and I appreciate all of the gearhead's help. I've read these forums for a while now, and you guys really know your stuff.

Do some searches on the topics you mentioned. You will find a ton of
information. Don't rush into anything until to spend some time reading
the threads. Lots of good info to be found, you just have to wade
through it. Good luck with the car!

The only LT4's I know of is the LT4 SS and LT4 Firehawk in 97. They made 100/29 of each and none of them were automatics or had T-tops. I suspect someone did an engine swap or modded it.

He actually put LTR engine on it. Maybe that was a typo. Never heard of an ltr.

well the 4 is right above the r so it might be a typo. he may have bought the LT4 conversion kit which is about $2200 for the cheapest I've seen it, if this is the case you have better power potential than the LT1.

That's what I'm going to check when I purchase it later this week. Orange=lt4, correct?
