Pulling oil pan!!!

I have the damn oil cooler on my car. I'm trying to pull the pan and it hits the cooler. I have the part held in by the star drives out. Is there any way to pull the piece that the filter screws in off? Thanks.

The oil cooler is easy to remove, one bolt holds the coolant lines to it, and once the oil filter is removed you need a big socket, something like a 1 1/8" socket, not for sure of the size, and unscrew the bolt ( where the oil filter mounts ) that mounts the cooler to the block.

Dont bother re-installing the cooler after your done. They do more harm than good. They pretty much bypass your oil filter once it gets the littlest amount of dirt in it.
