Pulling motor

I am pulling the motor out of my 1996 camaro lt1 to install into a 1997 trans am. I want to know what would be my best option here. Do I pull the camaro motor out from the bottom then put it in the top of the trans am or put it in from the bottom of the trans am also. Or should I just go out and in from the top. Which way is the quickest.

Is the transmission coming along for the ride, and do both cars use the same type (auto or manual)? You could literally drop the motor and slide it over to the T/A and install it, cradle and all.

Even if hes changing transmissions, that would be the quicker way to go, as long as the subframe the donor engine is currently on is in good shape/good suspension components.

Ive done it both ways and pulling it out the top is a pita. So my vote goes for taking it out from the bottom. Its really easy if you have access to a lift...and not too bad if you use a jack and stands. There are lots of write-ups on here for taking it out the bottom like the one posted above.

The trans is coming along for the ride. The Camaro is a A4 and the TA is a M6 so another problem is I will have to swap the wiring harness and patch up some holes in the TA. Looks like I will just pull it out the bottom and install it from the bottom. I don't want to use the cradle from the camaro because I don't think it is straight, the car was hit hard and put back together by a previous owner. I am going to have to cherry pick the motor and trans off of the camaro's cradle and install it onto the TA'S cradle then put it into the TA. Sounds like I will have a project for a few weekends. Thanks
