Pulling the engine from the top

I have done a search on this topic and found some good info. Can anyone explain to me in detail the procedure for pulling the engine from the top? what makes it harder?

I always pull my engine from the top. even with the hood on, you got to take off the acc bracket and remove the harmonic balencer and hub

Re: Pulling the engine from the top

Either method works fine, but pulling from the bottom is "easier" in my opinion because you can leave 90% of the stuff attached. Having the headers, plug wires, etc fully dressed before reinstalling it is a major plus. There's lots of step by step pictures of each so I won't bother with the details. Check out Brent Frankers f-body install guide, there's probably at least a few in there.

Re: Pulling the engine from the top

Having pulled it from the top, and also dropping it out the bottom, I found going in/out the bottom is SO much easier and convenient than through the top. There's no real advice to give about coming out the top than "disconnect everything and get everything out of the way. It's a PITA, I'll never go out the top again.

Thankyou for the replies. I guess I am just too old school, I think I will take it the safer road and pull it from the top.
