Pulling code 32... EGR valve

Alright... so recently my car has been getting horrible gas mileage(about 12mpg on average, yes that's when babying it with a couple short exceptions). I took it to Advanced Auto to get scanned. And it pulled a code 32 for "EGR signaling incorrect" or something to that extent. I was wondering if someone could elaborate on this? I'm not sure exactly what is going on, because it doesn't show the signs of bogging and cutting off at low rpms like I've read, all it is affecting is gas mileage. What would be a good fix for this? I know I can buy block-off plates for it, how hard are they to install.... any photos?

Yeah.

Egr Block off plates. $30
Madz28.com email tune. $65
Moates.net USB cable. $90

there ya go!

Better performance....code elimination. 2 birds with one stone! WOO!

Re: Pulling code 32... EGR valve

The code means when the PCM opens the EGR vacuum solenoid, it isn't seeing any change in MAP, indicating there is no flow or inadequate flow from the EGR valve. Could be the result of a faulty EGR valve, carboned up EGR valve or EGR passages, a leak in the vacuum system for the EGR, or low flow due to the low backpressure in the exhaust system when your cutout is open.

Re: Pulling code 32... EGR valve

Thanks guys... for some reason my mileage is back to where it used to be when I first got it... all I did was fiddle with the vacuum hoses(just disconnected to have a looksy and put them back)... maybe it was just a small leak?
