Pulleys are going to make the components that run off the belt spin slower. If you are running a big system that requires a lot of power then you may want to be careful. Things like the alternator will run slower and wont create as much amperage as often.

You would probably get a faster car by pulling out the system than by bolting on underdrive pulleys. Why do you need music to hide the amazing sound of a small block chevy? Just my opinion

Re: Pulleys? yes/no

My vote is no on the crank only pulley from March. I tried them once myself and the electrical load at idle was obvious.

If you do get a set of pulleys I woudl suggest the crank pulley that has the balancer built in. The piggy-back setup only ands rotating mass.

Pulleys have very little bang for the buck; spend your money elsewhere (been there, done that).

Listen to this guy

Instead of pulleys, do a throttle body bypass. probably get the same gain. Keep your extra money for the topless bars

i did both the tb bypass, pulleys, crank and alternator at the same time, and it pulls incredibly stronger..

Incredibly? Are you serious?

My opinion on the pulleys is to save the money and apply it elsewhere.

Re: Pulleys? yes/no

No substitute for some real-world data:

http://www.ws6.com/mod-2.htm

Putting an underdrive pulley on the crank, and then putting an overdrive pulley on the alternator will give back some of the limited gains. Going with underdrive on both the crank and the alternator caused charging problems at idle with my car, and the only extra load on the electrical system was a second fuel pump.

Re: Pulleys? yes/no

Ive got the underdrive pulley on my crank and the overdrive on my alternator and I still have some charging issues. BUT the charging issues don't seem to affect anything... I only installed them because I got it all for $40... I wouldnt pay full price for pulleys...
