Which pulleys to get.

Ive got some Summit bucks saved up and thought id get some underdrive pulleys.
It looks like the majority of people have March 25% underdrive pullies.
Im wondering if i should get the 2 pulley set(crankshaft and alternator) or the 1 pulley set(just the crankshaft).
I dont have any aftermarket stereo equipment(other than stock bose) or anything that draws extra current but i do alot of nighttime driveing if that matters.
So what are your guy's/girl's experience with underdrive pulleys.
Also do these pulleys require a different length belt?

I'd do the altenator pulley too just to be safe. It cant hurt anything.

I havent noticed much if any difference. But maybe a car that has more tire melting power will notice a difference

Actually the lower powered engines benefit noticeably from UD pulleys. It's a percentage thing.

With our valvetrain driven WP UD pullies offer us much less gain than they do other engines. The way they move the balancer out away from the motor is questionable as well. The only way I would do an UD is as part of a balancer upgrade like a lightweight ATI with a 10% UD then you will notice a gain(lighter weight) and get a better balancer while you are at it.

Personally, I would save the summit bucks for something else.

I wouldnt waste money on any pulleys unless its ASP made. March and all that other crap is piggy back style only adding weight to your rotating assembly.

If your going to buy one get the 23% ASP Crank Replacement Pulley. Summit does sell it, just ask. Although depending on what your other mods are, I'd be doing a E-WP and a few other things before a crank pulley, I see that as being a less than necessary bolt on.

Re: Which pulleys to get.

So the march pulley is a piggyback then. Looks like ill be going with ASP then. Ill eventually go with and electric waterpump. And further on down the line i might delete the AC and power steering. I want to do all the bolt-ons before i look into heads/cam.

So with the ASP pulley would you suggest just the crank or the crank and alt.

I would follow the advice of Bersaglieri. Either do an electric water pump, which Summit sells, or if you really want a pulley, go the ASP route. They make both a crank and an alternator pulley.
