pulled my motor, the oil is metallic! got ?'s

i pulled my motor yesterday and it is gone the #4 and #7 rod bearings spun and just about every other bearing is damaged. it also looked like there was water in the oil, dont even know how. there was a layer of what looked like glitter in the oil pan, which was basically all the metal shavings from the internals. the only thing that is still salvagable is the block. good thing i didnt plan on reusing the crank and rods cuz they are real bad. the cylinder walls on a few cylinders were nicked.

now the only thing that i have questions on is should i reuse the lifters? they were brand new and were in the motor for about 3k miles before the motor went. they have been sitting there for about 7 months, should i just buy new ones?

also since i have the motor out what should i replace since i already have everything apart? im waiting on my 355 with a BRE cam and im just gonna clean up the heads a little till i can send them out to Lloyd.

Lifters: If you have money in them take them apart and clean them. They will have metal in them.

Other things... lol I replaced everything.

With that much metal shavings floating around in there I'd get a new set of lifters for $200-250 its silly not to replace them...

I spun 2 bearings and reused the lifters from the bad engine. I dissassembled them then cleaned them with solvent. Worked perfectly.

Lifters aren't hurt. A cleaning will do. Just do them one at a time and don't get the parts mixed up.

To add what I said earlier. I had low mile stock lifters when I spun 2 rod bearings. I bought another used set, low miles for @ $50. Really wasn't worth the trouble to me to clean them.

damn lifters left me completely broke last time, cuz i bought them new and then my damn starter messed up. so i was left with enough $$ to put a weeks worth of gas till my next pay check. now im in the same place but with no job i dont want to cut any corners since everything is going in brand new, so i might as well wait till i can get some new ones. i dont want to go through this hassle again. i heard all this $h!t about the comp r's but are they worth it, or should i just buy some stock replacements. i think the price difference is minimal, so what should i do?

also, where can i buy some performonce motor and tranny mounts?

How about the rocker arms? Take them apart and clean them too?
