you know, i am in the final stages of a topend rebuild, and happened upon this wire conflicting with my longtubes. i quickly followed it and found it went from the front passenger wheel hub into a loom bundle entering on the shock tower and proceeding under the headlamp. i would guess its abs related.

If its what I think it is, trace it back to one of your wheel speed sensors...
good luck with the install!

It goes to the back of the wheel hub.

Dude, get those fixed. Splice them if you can, or order the new pigtail.
Nothing I hate more than people with shady brakes....like the post last week about the malfunctioning ABS...and the guy goes "Just unplug the sensor"

I certianly will be fixing them, but tomorrow I am finally going to be finishing my rebuild and I want to take it around the block(neighborhood only).
I do not plan on keeping it like this forever.

Your car will be completely drivable on a temporary basis. You will not notice the ABS is missing, unless you deliberately expose yourself to a situation that requires full lockup to stop.

While I fully support repair of a malfunctioning ABS system (and did so in the previous thread mentioned above), suggesting that you deserve to be hated because you have "shady brakes" borders on ludicrous. More than a few of us managed to survive driving for more than 40 years in vehicles without ABS. Yes, its a good addition for the everyday driver, but lets not over react to a guy who simply wants to take his car for a test drive.

What part are you looking for - the connector or the harness? Why can't you just splice it?

GM PART # 12145732 will get you the short harness with the conncector on it (not very expensive). GM does not sell the connector by itself. You could possibly find one at an auto parts store if you knew what you were looking for.
Notice that the ABS wires are tightly twisted, if you do any splicing, make sure you maintain that twist. It helps keep the signal clean.

While I don't personally agree with it, there's nothing wrong with disabling your ABS this way. It's no different than people who remove their A/C (which I also think is dumb).
