well today i finaly got around to pulling the intake. i had a clacking coming from lifter area.
the clacking would start after i started it and the idle would calm down. about 15 seconds or so. then it would clack when i drove it.
so far ive only pulled the drivers side lifters where the noise seemed to be comin from. none of the them look collapsed from a visual stand point. the rollers seem smooth too. im just wondering if its always obvious after they are pulled that one is bad. they have 80k miles on them. i have some i bought with 3500 miles ready to go in.

You might have need a valve adjustment. But new lifters are alway a good idea.
