Proper fuel pressure for my car

I have a 94 Z with an LT1, signature has the rest. I was having some running issues and I hooked up a gauge on the fuel line and it reads like 48psi. That seems way too high to me. I have an adjustable holley fuel pressure regulator. What exactly should I be at?

After reading other posts I think I'm fine.

Depends whether you measured the pressure with or without the vacuum line.

At idle, remove the vacuum compensation line (plug it to prevent a vacuum leak). Set the pressure to 43.5psi. Reconnect the vacuum line. Pressure should drop proportional to intake manifold vacuum.... about 6 to 8psi drop with a stock cam, less drop with a more aggressive cam.

Set the fuel pressure at 43.5psi with the vac line disconnected, then fine tune your 42#/hr injector constant until your long term fuel trims are as close to zero as possible when cruising.
