Proform 1.6 rockers
Proform 1.6 rockers
Any experience with the proform 1.6 ratio rockers? Jegs has them in a set for 189.99. Just curious before I buy is quality is good. Its pretty much a stock setup just wanting to add a little.
Thanks.
Any spring sugguestion with these rockers would be nice.

Re: Proform 1.6 rockers
I have had mine for a couple years now, no major issues. One recomendation would be to install new studs. The factory studs are a little short and you won't have a whole lot of thread engagement with the poly lock.
some decent stock replacement springs should suffice.

Re: Proform 1.6 rockers
Aren't LT4 springs cheap and a bit of an upgrade from the f-body stockers, seems too me that would be better than just new stock ones.
On the rockers I have 42K on a set of 1.5 ProForms(I am willing to be the rollers are the same in differnt bodies to make the ratio change) the last 28K of which with an upgraded cam and appropriate springs, Nice and quiet yet even been told my car sounds stock(cam is mild a ZZ3 cam) so they are not noisey or anything.

Re: Proform 1.6 rockers
No, I am saying they have served me well sofar and I am happy. I know guys that have had the GMPP rockers die in 20K with stiffer springs and no OD so on the highway they were really spinning the motor a lot the revs and springs just took their toll.
I know everyone drools over the GMPP/Crane/LT4(all similar not exactly the same), but really if money is no object I would say the steel Comp ProMagnums, steel for strength and rigidity, they act lighter than aluminum because it takes less steel for the same strength, and I believe they are rebuildable too if they should ever begin to wear. If you get them from somewhere like Combination Motorsports they are I believe less $$$ than the Crane/GMPP/LT4 rockers too so money wise they are not even that bad.
