Problems with taking off the upper panhard rod?
Problems with taking off the upper panhard rod?
Problems with taking off the upper panhard rod? I was thinking of taking it off to make room for some larger exhaust, I know I could get a relocation brkt but what would be affected if I took it off? Would it be that bad?
Re: Problems with taking off the upper panhard rod?
Not sure I get the full meaning but.... are you just gunna temporarily remove it for the exhaust installation? or you wanna do away with it?
on a temporary basis... once you remove that bolt.. if the car shifts just a bit you gunna need a buddy to push the car back into aligntment before you can put that bolt back up. Else you will need a press and lots of grease to reinstall that freaggin bolt. I learned the hard way and its due to the bolt design.
Now if you just simply wanna remove the panhard. "period"..... your wheels will go one way while your car goes the other way in the first turn you make.

He said the UPPER bar. I've seen it removed before for custom exhaust. Not sure if there's any side-effects.
Re: Problems with taking off the upper panhard rod?
The only side effect I had was that I tripped over it a couple times when it was sittnig on my garage floor.
I wouldn't recommend it for a car that does a lot of cornering (road race/autoX) unless you brace the mounts some other way. It's debatable for a street car.
