Problems all fixed... now mods... advice?

I've had my 95 Z28 A4 for about 2 years and am now a problem free LT1 Everything runs perfect.. but I'm still pretty much stock. All I have is a ported and polished MAF, a CAI, and a 3" cutout on my stock exhaust. I ran a 13.7@99 so I'm not too upset I also ended up with the tiny little 2.73 gears.. Kind of a bummer. Well, I guess my point is that I want to start making her faster but I want to do the little cheap things first.. considering my funds are not much by any means. Any suggestions? I thought I might start with gears... Let me hear what you think!

Gears can be somewhat costly after the price of installation, but are still a worthwhile mod.

I would recommend a good catback exhaust, some brands are pretty cheap, like Edelbrock, which is what I have.

Headers are a good route to go as well.

U can get ur computer reprogrammed by PCMforless for $100, which is pretty cheap and effective as well.

Just a few things to consider

gears are gonna be as much if not more than headers will cost you. that is if you install the headers and have someone install the gears. i would just go with a catback like magnaflow or maybe hooker since i hear they sound good and are under $400.. you can probably get it installed for $50 or so too if you ask around.

well she already has a cutout so a catback really won't help all that much over an open cutout. and personaly I have a cutout in my stock exhaust so that I can have it quiet when I want and loud when I want.

I was kinda thinking about doing a whole new exhaust setup though. The cutout is nice and all but I want something more. The only thing that will keep me from getting rid of it is if it produces about the same power and flow as another setup. If it's not going to make much of a difference then I'll probably just stick with it.

Performance on a budget...hmm you seem exactly like me! I just keep an eye peeled on ebay and this board..you can get some great deals! I would recomend the TB Bypass...i havent done it yet, but it seems to me like the only worth while free mod that is actually dyno proven. A high flowing cat back woudl give you some ponies...just a cora or borla woudlnt really fit into what you want. I was thinking about doing gears myself because i have the 2.73's but i have no clue how much it would cost to have them put in?? Any ideas on that guys? Hmm what else is there...thers the Airfoil....i heard that thing gives you like 40 rwhp...JP! Overall...Catback, and PCM Tune..Bryan at PCM for less says he can pick me up 15-20 horses now with my basically stock setup...

Yeah, I have an airfoil actually... It didn't make much of a difference at all... in fact I just took it out cause it's such a pain to get back in after you take it all apart At least I didn't notice any difference.... It may have made a tiny difference but nothing noticeable. As for the rest of the stuff... Where can I get the computer reprogrammed in AZ? I also saw a set of 3.42s for sale on ebay for like $60 the other day. They should be cheap considering it's another stock option, but I wouldn't mind them. I'm also aware of having to buy a new (casing?) I think is what it's called when you go from 2.73s to a higher gear because that's maxed out. That's a hassle too... but as far as any installations go, I get really good deals... probably cause I have a lot of friends that work at performance shops and... probably cause I'm a girl gotta love it. Thanks for all your input!

A nice set of long tube headers and some 373's and you'll be good for awhile
