Problem with Shift Light.

Problem with Shift Light.
Well i hooked up my autometer shiftlite adn I have the 3k test chip in. When i rev the gas the light blinks at 2500rpm. I am using the green tach signal wire from my Accel 300+ ignition as the rpm reference. Any ideas why it could be off?
