problem with rockers and retainers

I was going to put my rockers on last nite and it seems that 5 of the valve stems dont stick out of the retainers high enough.. the rocker body is hitting the reatainer and not allowing the tip of the rocker to get the the valve stem. the rockers or comp cams pro mag's. can anyone give me some advice of what to do. one option i was told is to change locks and run a lash cap.

i don't know part numbers, but it is all comp cams stuff. dual springs, titanium lock, and unkown locks. 11 of the vavle stems stick out plenty far.

When you installed the caps on the studs that you adjust.... you're sure they're sitting inside the "cup" of the roller rocker shaft?

If you spin this shaft on the roller rocker you'll notice you have a flat side, and a machined side for the rocker stud to sit into. Take off the rocker and see what I mean.

i dont even have to have the polly locks on to see this problem.. all i have to do it seat the back of the rocker on the pushrod and the body hits the retainer and the tip wont hit the valve.

ok, I kinda solved mine, mine was really close, only a paper width apart, so I just did a little dremel work.

but here are some things to look for, do you have the right lenght pushrods, right shims, anything bent? any machine work not taken into consideration i.e. mill heads/deck block?

pushrods are dead nuts on for the valves that the rockers acctualy make it to. I did the magic marker thing and it only wore the pater out dead center on the vavle. Now with the 5 valve being shorter wouldn't that maybe require a different pushrod length becasue the geometry is different? I am going to get 1 pushrod that is .200 long and see if that works, because i am already running .100 longs.
