Well for some reason my engine is shutting off while I'm driving and it happens only when the car is heated up and under acceleration. I still have electricity in the car when the engine shuts off. So when I try to start the car again as soon as it happens it sounds like the engine is just about to turn over but it never does. But if I wait like 10 mins the car will start back up again. It's like the car needs to cool off before it starts again. I tested the battery and alternator and they are fine. I also just replaced my ICM ( ignition control module ) and its still dieing. When I bought my car about few years ago I changed the coil with a MSD Blaster Coil and changed the Opti as well. The plugs and wires are also not very old just changed them last summer. I'm thinking it's an electrical problem. The last time it died on me it threw a Code 22 which is TPS voltage low. I checked tps with my laptop and the voltage was where it should be. Could that have just been a fluke or something? If anyone has any idea what could be going on please let me know! Any help would be greatly appreciated.

I just replaced the coil and it did not fix the problem.

 

Check fuel pressure when it dies and won't start. Could be the fuel pump going bad.

 

I've got to test that next. Anyone else have any idea whats going on?

 

does the car turn over, and not start or will it not crank over after shutting off?

 

I think the fuel pump is likely the culprit but try putting some washers between the coil and the head you could be heat washing it possibly

 

Well tested the fuel pressure and it seems like that is not the problem. Fuel pressure never went down and when I tried cracking it over the pressure was there. The code 22 came up again as well.

Once the engine shuts off I try to turn it back on and it sounds like its about to start and it never does. I replaced coil and icm already so their not the problem.
